This Main Event edition of European Poker Tour in Barcelona gathered 1694 players. It was the biggest number of participants on the tour. The EPT ended with John Juanda's win of 1 022 593 €.

With his 5 WSOP previous wins, he won his 1st EPT title, ahead of the Englishman Steve Warburton and the Dane Frederik Jansen.

Determined to forget his loss against the Scotsman David Vamplew during EPT season 7 in London, the Indonesian won the EPT Barcelona. He is now ranked 9th in All Time Money List with more than $17 million in career earnings.


Nevertheless, the victory was hard to conquer for John Juanda, especially because of the opposition the Ukrainian Denys Shafikov held, chipleader at the beginning of day 6 and dominating the game until four-handed play.


Contrariwise the Russian Victor Bogdanov lost on the very first hand, ending rnaked 9th on the final table.


The Dane Frederik Jensen, eager to win EPT for the second time disposed of Mario Sanchez thanks to a straight despite the Spanish's flush who won 137 080 € ending 8th on the final table.


The Lebanese man Amir Touma was not as lucky when he lost the survival coin flip against Juanda, ending 7th with 194 100 €.


The Englishman Steve Warburton, another tournament important actor, dominated Andreas Samuelsson thanks to his aces. The Swede ended 6th with 253 900 €.


Previously dominated by the Ukrainian Denys Shafikov, the German Rainer Kempe showed his ressources, resisting during 40 hands ! He ended 5th with 320 400 €.


The Ukrainian remained the leader until he got dominated and lost to the Dane Frederik Jensen, ending 4th.


The 3 survivors made a deal in order to lessen the huge differencies between the 3 first spots.

With a Full House, after having chipped up nicely, the Indonesian John Juanda ended the move and got payed by the Dane Frederik Jensen who saw his dream of double EPT win over, ending 3rd with 810 294 €.


Despite a chip disavantage and a lack of experience in the final duel, Warburton fiercely resisted before bowing down to Juanda.


Bertrand « Elky » Grospellier and his girlfirend Jenney were the first to congratulate the Indonesian after the EPT Barcelona 2015 last board.


Next European Poker Tour festival will be held in Portomaso Casino & Hilton Malta of Saint Julian, next October.
