The renovation will see the addition of a a 3,283 sq ft mezzanine level to be filled with restaurants and an expanded gaming floor.

From Gateway Casino Hanover to Playtime Casino Hanover

In a press release published on the 20th of September, Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited, the operator of the Hanover casino as well as 27 other casinos, stated that a $18 million renovation is to be done for Gateway Casino Hanover.

Once the work is done, this should create 70 more jobs in the casino.

This will also allow them to add a "showcase for Gateway’s signature restaurant brands MATCH Eatery & Public House and The Buffet."

In total, 300 slots machines and 8 live table games will be added in the casino.

The renovations are expected to last until December 2018 and once done, the casino will be rebranded as Playtime Casino Hanover.

Linda McColl General Manager at Gateway Casinos said that “This is the beginning of a whole new gaming and entertainment experience for Hanover.”

This renovation is a follow up to other plans already in motion for Gateway as they already announced a new $36 million Cascades Casino to be built in Chatham-Kent and the current $26 million renovation to transform Gateway Point Edward to Starlight Casino Point Edward.
