Antigua and Barbuda is an idyllic tourist destination. Indeed, it benefits from luxuriant vegetation and a varied fauna. These beaches are the main assets of these islands thanks to their white sand and turquoise waters. The most famous are Darkwood Beach on Antigua, Galley Bay Beach at St John and Valley Church Beach at Jolly Harbor. The other major tourist attraction is English Harbor, a former British naval base from the 18th century that is nowadays a nautical base and a meeting point for yachts and sailing boats in the Lesser Antilles.
